Sudan Emergency

There, brutal conflict has emptied towns and villages, forced millions from their homes and pushed parents to watch their children slip towards malnutrition. In Sudan, people wake up not knowing if they will find food, medicine or even safe water for their families by nightfall. Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world today. Entire communities that were already struggling with poverty have been shattered by conflict, hunger and mass displacement. Parents are watching their children grow thinner, not knowing when they will next be able to feed them. Famine has already been confirmed in many cities, where people have endured siege, violence and food blockades for months. In some areas, families have survived on animal feed and gone days without a single proper meal. Right now, displaced families shelter under trees, in makeshift camps or overcrowded rooms, with little access to food, clean water or healthcare. Mothers skip meals so their children can eat. Elderly people and babies are the first to collapse under the weight of hunger, heat and disease. MATW continues to stand beside Sudanese families in this catastrophe.
